Chapter 295 295: Breaking a Law?
Chapter 295 295: Breaking a Law?
In the next instant, the being's eyes suddenly snapped open! They were pitch black. He glanced around for a moment before his eyes landed on the tall man in front of him.
"My…Lord..?"
The moment those words echoed, Rahu's entire body shook…no, to be precise…The entire mortal realm shook violently!
Rahu blinked for a moment. The moment he opened them…he was no longer in the tower.
"Hmm?"
Rahu frowned when he saw this…looking around. He found himself in what seemed like a huge…court.
Yes, a vast courtroom.
It was an incomprehensible courtroom, stretching beyond what even the highest lifeforms' perception could grasp. Its very space was layered and mirrored with countless overlapping…Laws.
Rahu glanced down…there wasn't a floor, but a flowing expanse of ever-shifting cosmic essence, reflecting the fragments of reality itself!
"Where the fuck am I?"
Rahu muttered…although from his eyes he could indeed see a huge courtroom. There wasn't a single being here.
Looking around, he saw towering pillars. "No way…even those pillars contain the Laws. And it wasn't merely a projection or a showcase. It was the real deal."
Then he frowned when he looked up. At the center, there stood six colossal rings…spinning slowly. They were just suspended in the void, but what surprised him the most was…there was a throne on top of each of them.
The rings rotated slowly, as if governing the flow of existence itself.
"Hmph, what sort of tricks are these?!"
Rahu snorted. With him as the center, an invisible pressure flew out like an overwhelming tidal wave.
It was his law—the essence of the Embodiment of Death. The moment it spread out…the entire thing became visible to him.
"Blasphemous! Daring to use Laws in front of the !@#$!!!"
Tilting his head…he saw a man. He was standing right below the rings.
Rahu's eyes shone curiously as he heard the man's words. "In front of who?"
He asked again because he didn't hear what the last words were.
"Y-You!! Who allowed you to speak!? Wait…how the heck could you even see me!?"
The man was bald…with a shining surface. He had glowing runes all over his body. He was wearing a simple Daoist robe.
But his eyes…they were shining. They seemed like they could bear the weight of multiple realms.
"Bitch, what do you mean I couldn't see you? Are you a hotshot or something? And what's with that arrogance? Tone it down when you are talking to me."
Rahu dismissed the man in front of him, since he didn't attempt to do anything to suppress or capture him. It was safe to assume that he couldn't do shit to him.
Hearing his words, the man in Daoist robes was stunned for a moment. Until Rahu's words echoed inside his head like a broken tape.
"H--H–How dare you!? Who do you think you are talking to!?" The man pointed a trembling finger at Rahu.
But Rahu, of course, ignored him. There were far more interesting things than talking with a man.
"He said something about not using the Laws in front of some…thing he uttered. Hmm, well, I'll observe for a moment before deciding."
Saying that, he turned towards the bald man once again…who seemed to be taking deep breaths.
"Boy, you have no idea what sort of quagmire you are in."
After calming down, the bald man suddenly spoke. His demeanor changed 180 degrees.
"What sort of problem?"
Rahu asked curiously, unfazed by the threat.
"Just wait—"
Just before he could continue…a strange pressure descended from high above. The bald man instantly got onto his knees…his head glued to the ground.
Even Rahu was no exception…the pressure made his knee bend. But before his knees could touch the ground, he invoked his Law.
The pressure on him lessened to…a certain degree. Just enough for him not to touch the ground.
Rahu frowned when he saw this. Just as he was about to open his mouth, a…voice echoed throughout the Cosmic Court.
"Not bad…for a puny mortal."
Rahu slowly looked up…high above the courtroom, smoke filled the air as the thrones on the rings began to glow.
"What are these beings? They are not gods…they are something far different."
Rahu thought inwardly with cold precision.
"What if they discovered my physique? Since at the beginning it was said to be one of the three forbidden physiques?"
Although he was indeed worried, his physique was probably one of the most coveted in the entire universe.
His eyes moved to the last throne…that too was filled with fog; whatever that was, it was where the source came from.
"What…you…mean"
Despite the pressure…Rahu squeezed out some words from his throat. Barely.
But the moment those echoed, the kneeling bald man's eyes widened in horror.
"What in the hell is happening…even for remaining conscious, even the gods require the divine protection of the !@#$%!!. But this man…"
And he wasn't the only one surprised…a quiet hum echoed through the thrones.
"How many years has it been since we have seen such a…creature?"
From the original six thrones…Rahu heard it from the far right.
"What a blasphemous creature."
"This thing reeks of death…throw it away, I want to go."
One by one, the three voices continued to speak, even using demeaning words. Their voices sounded genderless…or perhaps he simply couldn't discern them clearly.
Despite all the insults, not a single emotion passed in his eyes. His eyes burned as he slowly twisted his head towards the central three thrones.
They had been quiet, or at least they seemed neutral. Before he could say anything…the one sitting in the center spoke.
"Do you know your crimes, mortal?"
His voice was neutral…almost robotic.
"Crime? What the fuck is he talking about?" He thought inwardly, looking at the being sitting in the center in confusion.
"There was no way my Death Embodiment was the one that had caused this…nor my physique."
Despite being pressed down…the gears in his head were spinning faster than ever. But a second later, realization dawned upon him.
"Was it the creation of the new race that caused this? No, I don't think so."
But before he could even reply, the being sitting beside the central being spoke.
"How do you have access to the $%^&!@#??"
She said, once again muttering some inherent words.
