Chapter 2542 - 1150: Dead Ends on Both Sides! (Part 2)
Chapter 2542 - 1150: Dead Ends on Both Sides! (Part 2)
Lin Baici wouldn’t stay here.
"Move aside!"
Lin Baici walked forward, using a bit of strength, just like Moses parting the sea, he effortlessly pushed the crowd aside.
People bumped into each other, and feet got stepped on, but since it was caused by Lin Baici, nobody dared to voice their curses, at most, they quietly muttered a few words under their breath.
No choice,
They still had to cling to his leg.
Lin Baici walked all the way to the front, and conveniently found Hua Yue Yu and Ji Xinyan, bringing the classmates along.
"That was really dangerous just now!"
Tao Nai was still scared: "I never imagined a cat could be so frightening!"
"If you were a mouse, you wouldn’t say that!"
Xu Daguan joked, in the eyes of a mouse, a cat must be the scariest animal.
"Class president, thank you!"
Bai Jiao thanked him.
"Hey, hey, I contributed too!"
Xu Daguan claimed credit.
"I haven’t finished yet!"
Bai Jiao glanced at Xu Daguan askance, but since he did put in some effort, she solemnly thanked him: "Wenwu, Mingyuan, Daguan, thank you all!"
As for thanking Hua Yue Yu, they had already done that earlier.
"We’re all classmates, there’s no need to be so polite!"
Lin Baici indicated to Bai Jiao not to be overly courteous.
"It’s necessary!"
Bai Jiao smiled wryly: "If it were any other class facing such a situation, even if not completely annihilated, they would have fallen apart entirely!"
Without a leader who stands up, a class lacks cohesion, surely forming small groups by those with good relationships to seek survival.
Only Lin Baici would save everyone.
The passageway was long, walking through it took quite a while.
However, aside from feeling the environment was oppressive, breathing slightly difficult, and fear of the upcoming predicament, the lack of security from surroundings was not too severe.
Because Lin Baici was at the forefront, even if monsters attacked, he would encounter them first.
Lin Baici was keeping an eye on the time, after walking for about 35 minutes, there was no path ahead, but a security door.
"God bless, please don’t be locked!"
Xu Daguan prayed.
Click!
Lin Baici grabbed the door handle, easily twisted it, and then pushed the door open.
Creaaak!
Light snuck in like a group of thieves.
Abruptly seeing brightness from a dark place made everyone somewhat uncomfortable, instinctively closing their eyes.
Lin Baici stepped out, gazing towards both sides.
The people behind poured out like fish caught in a net, tumbling onto the deck in a gush.
"What is this place?"
Compared to that giant living room, this was much more spacious, yet also much simpler.
For there was no scenery, just a ten-meter wide corridor.
On the north and south sides of the corridor were towering stone walls, probably fifty or sixty meters high, sealed at the top, unable to see the sky.
Nothing was on the stone walls, just coated with a layer of white ash.
The security door everyone exited was on the south side of the wall.
You could walk either east or west, and from Lin Baici’s field of view, at the end of the corridor, stood a statue on each side.
"This place looks like a maze?"
Ji Xinyan surveyed the area.
"This corridor is probably a hundred meters long!"
Fang Mingyuan estimated, being a sports student who trained daily and ran often, his distance estimation is quite accurate.
"Let’s go!"
Lin Baici sensed the hunger radar, then chose to go right.
"Hey handsome, any reason you chose this side?"
Someone in the crowd asked.
"No reason!"
Lin Baici didn’t even bother to turn his head: "Because I like it!"
"That’s way too unreliable, isn’t it?"
"Handsome, are you hiding something from us?"
"Looks like he’s upset?"
People murmured to each other.
Some felt Lin Baici was acting too rashly, others thought he was withholding important information he wasn’t sharing...
Anyway, there were quite a few complainers.
"You can walk however you want, no need to follow me!"
Lin Baici was disappointed by these tourists, even some of his classmates.
All selfishly minded.
But with a vast forest, there are all kinds of birds, it’s normal.
Despite the complaints, not a single one went solo, because Lin Baici’s excellence and contributions were evident.
Without him, in that previous living room, they would have been annihilated.
That tabby cat could bite off a head in one chomp, easier than eating dried fish!
Lin Baici walked over the white floor tiles, through the corridor, stopping five meters from the statues.
It was a T-junction; two statues stood on both left and right corners.
"Could these things be monsters?"
Xu Daguan stared upwards and assessed.
These two statues didn’t evoke any fear; they were armored, wielding two-handed swords, resembling the loyal knights from fairy tales who follow a princess!
"No idea!"
Lin Baici observed for a minute but couldn’t deduce anything, so he continued forward.
"Move quickly!"
Distancing from the statues at the quickest speed was the safest course.
The tourists followed Lin Baici.
Suddenly, the two statues moved, they swung their swords, one slash, and struck towards the crowd.
Swish!
A five-meter-long giant sword sliced through the air, crashing onto the floor with a bang.
Over a dozen unfortunate souls were hit.
Aside from those instantly killed, a few weren’t dead yet, thus letting out agonizing cries.
Everyone was startled, immediately sprinting wildly.
But the statues didn’t care about those runners, they raised their swords and slashed again towards the wounded.
Bang!
Now they were truly dead, silenced.
Then the statues returned to their original stance, as though nothing had occurred.
Yet the ground littered with corpses and the flowing crimson blood showcased the horrific atmosphere of the pollution.
"This damn place doesn’t let us live?"
"Boohoo, I want to go home!"
"Damn, when can we get out?"
Some tourists snapped mentally, crying, cursing, venting emotions.
Lin Baici glanced back, continuing forward.
Dead?
This sort of thing in God’s ruins was too common!
They arrived at another T-junction.
The same two statues occupied both sides.
"This time, they’ll probably swing swords and kill, right?"
Fang Mingyuan pondered a purification method as he rubbed his chin.
"Can you think something positive?"
Zhang Zhixu cursed.
"If we get through quickly, it should be okay!"
Bai Jiao analyzed: "I noticed that earlier, those two statues didn’t seem to want to pursue us!"
"Dumpling, each pollution could be different!"
Lin Baici reminded.
As they were talking, a few tourists suddenly bolted forward, noticing, some still in shock, others began sprinting alongside.
Because the statues attacked the people in the middle before, those quick thinkers believed the first ones to pass should be safe.
"Damn!"
Xu Daguan was stunned, what’s going on?
"Bai Ci!"
Ji Xinyan realized this, she grabbed Lin Baici’s hand, trying to run across.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t move him; Lin Baici stood firm like a mountain, impossible to budge, even a bulldozer couldn’t pull him.
"Stop!"
Lin Baici shouted because the Eater God commented, with two words...
[Dead End!]
The crowd about to rush stopped, looking at Lin Baici.
"That’s a dead end!"
Lin Baici explained: "Go the other way!"
The quick-witted ones who went ahead were smug, thinking their reaction was super fast, but upon hearing Lin Baici’s words and seeing others turn back, they were dumbfounded.
"Damn, what do you mean?"
An older man felt attacked: "Are you messing with me?"
He thought Lin Baici just noticed some had gone past the statues, their situation now turning dangerous, thus wanting a different path.
Changing paths is fine, but what about us who crossed?
Run back and follow you?
But do these statues allow it?
"Who the hell you think you’re talking to?"
Fang Mingyuan interrupted: "Believe me, I’ll beat you up?"
"No need, those statue monsters will beat them!"
Xu Daguan sneered.
Clearly relying on Lin Baici to survive, yet not following orders and still playing smart.
Humph!
Taking matters into their own hands, serves them right for being killed!
