Chapter 613: Do You Know Where the Problem Lies?
Chapter 613: Do You Know Where the Problem Lies?
Yang Qi stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his eyes coldly fixed on Master Zhang, filled with an icy Killing Aura.
It would have been one thing if he were just a common charlatan, but this so-called Master Zhang was toying with human lives.
"Who do you think you are, shouting here? Is Master Zhang someone you can afford to offend?"
"Exactly! You’ve offended Master Zhang. Kneel and apologize at once!"
The crowd didn’t believe a word Yang Qi said and began accusing him of causing trouble. Li Fei’s expression also grew grim. He had gone to great trouble to invite Master Zhang; what would he do if the man was scared away in anger?
Li Tian directly questioned him, "Boy, out of respect for my nephew, I didn’t bother to expose you. You should have just stayed quiet in the corner. How dare you cause a scene here?
"Do you know where you are? So many experts, scholars, and masters are present. What are you trying to do? A young man in his twenties dares to spout such drivel. Do you even understand Feng Shui?"
"Utterly preposterous! Someone, throw these people out!"
"Stop!" Li Yang hurriedly interjected. "Second Uncle, you don’t understand. Don’t speak nonsense. I have witnessed Mr. Yang’s capabilities myself. He must have his reasons for saying what he did."
At that moment, Li Fei turned to Yang Qi and asked coldly, "Mr. Yang, are you saying Master Zhang is a fraud?"
"That’s correct," Yang Qi stated plainly. "Not just a fraud, but a conscienceless one at that. If he were only after money, it would be one thing. But he has no idea how many lives his actions will cost."
His words were nothing short of sensational, stunning everyone into speechlessness.
Who was Master Zhang? He was a renowned Feng Shui master from the south. How could he possibly be a fraud? That young man really had a big mouth. It was one thing to say such things in private, but to do so in front of so many masters? What nerve.
Does he think everyone else is a fool and only he is smart? That no one else can see Master Zhang is a fraud, but he can? Isn’t he just calling everyone here an idiot in a roundabout way?
"How impudent! You’re still spouting such nonsense. Get out now, or don’t blame me for being forceful," Li Tian said, growing impatient. If he didn’t stop this, it would lead to disaster.
"You’re the one who should shut up!" Tong Wu stepped forward, glanced at Li Tian, and said, "Ignorant and incompetent! To think you’d try to drive away the only person who can resolve the disaster facing Sea City. What are your intentions? Do you wish to doom Sea City to utter destruction?"
Li Tian was momentarily stunned. Why would Tong Wu speak up for this kid?
Just then, Qi Yan also stepped out from the crowd. "City Lord Li, Mr. Yang is indeed a man of great ability. You should genuinely consider what he’s saying."
This left the crowd even more astonished. That Tong Wu would help Yang Qi could be explained by Yang Qi working for the Tong Family. But Qi Yan was a renowned Feng Shui Magician in Sea City. For him to also support Yang Qi was baffling.
Li Fei found himself in a dilemma. He feared offending Master Zhang, but he also feared that Master Zhang might truly be a charlatan.
Right then, the person Li Yang had sent to gather medicinal herbs returned.
Yang Qi took the herbs and immediately began a display of alchemy by hand. He used Spiritual Fire to refine the ingredients, accelerating the process and creating a single medicine pill. It wasn’t a true Elixir; one wasn’t needed to treat these people.
"Go on, give this to him. I guarantee it will cure his illness instantly!" Yang Qi handed the medicine pill to Li Yang, pointing to one of the most severely ill patients.
"Absurd! How can you give some unknown medicine pill to a patient? If something goes wrong, who will be responsible?" Master Zhang retorted angrily. Yang Qi had called him a fraud, so he was naturally displeased and had no intention of giving him any face. He was determined to oppose whatever Yang Qi did.
"I will take responsibility!" Yang Qi said coldly. "I can guarantee he won’t die!"
Li Yang gritted his teeth. This was an opportunity, a chance to get closer to Yang Qi. He decisively ran over and offered the medicine pill to the patient.
"Eat this, and you’ll be able to leave the hospital."
The patient hesitated, undecided.
However, a man next to him snatched the medicine pill away. "If you won’t eat it, I will! I’m dying of pain, what’s there to think about?"
The man swallowed the medicine pill. All eyes turned to him.
A few moments later, the red blotches on the man’s body rapidly faded, and his entire demeanor brightened.
"Hahaha, I’m cured! The pain is gone! Hahaha, and the red blotches are gone, too!" the patient exclaimed in joy.
However, this was only a surface observation. A blood sample was drawn and tested. After a thorough examination, the conclusion was that he had been completely cured.
Hearing this result, Li Yang was thrilled. No matter what, bringing Yang Qi here had paid off. He wanted his father to see him in a new light.
"Dad, did you see that? Mr. Yang cured an illness that the experts you invited couldn’t. Do you still dare say he’s not capable?" Li Yang said triumphantly. "And Second Uncle, you shouldn’t look down on people. Your judgment isn’t even as good as mine."
Li Fei and Li Tian both shook their heads with wry smiles, their hearts filled with shock.
Yang Qi’s medicine actually worked? It’s miraculous. How could Yang Qi solve a problem that even the experts from the Capital City couldn’t? Could this young man in his twenties truly be some incredible hidden master?
"Now, may I state my opinion?" Yang Qi asked with a faint smile. Some things couldn’t be clarified with words alone; you first had to show others what you were capable of.
"Hmph, you might have some Medical Skills, but that’s just treating the symptoms. Even if you cure everyone, what good is it? If you can’t solve the fundamental problem, it will all be for nothing in the end," Master Zhang snorted.
The crowd considered this and had to agree. After all, Feng Shui and Medical Skills were entirely different fields.
"You’re not wrong," Yang Qi nodded.
"At least you know your place, kid," Master Zhang sneered.
"You’re right that it’s treating the symptoms, not the root cause. However, your understanding of that root cause is gravely mistaken. You use what little Magic you know to go around deceiving people. It would have been fine if you’d never crossed my path, but since you have today, I will expose you for what you truly are!" Yang Qi retorted coldly.
Li Fei offered a wry smile. "Mr. Yang, your Medical Skills are exceptional, and Master Zhang is a renowned Feng Shui master. If the two of you were to join forces, this calamity would surely be resolved. Why must you be at such odds?"
"Right, right! You’re both experts, why argue over who is superior? Why not work together for the benefit of Sea City?" someone chimed in.
By now, no one dared to underestimate Yang Qi, but they still felt he was arrogant. He understands medicine, but as the saying goes, different fields are different worlds. How could he possibly understand Feng Shui?
"Work with a charlatan to benefit Sea City? You people have quite the imagination," Yang Qi said, glancing at the crowd with disdain. "He can’t even identify the real problem, yet he stands here putting on an act. It’s truly laughable."
"Are you saying you know what the crux of the problem is?" Master Zhang asked, unconvinced.
"Of course!" Yang Qi said coldly. "The illness only appears in those who have lived in Sea City for a time. It isn’t contagious, yet new cases keep appearing. Why is that? I imagine all of you have considered the possibility of a problem with the water source, correct?"
