Chapter 664 Coming Back Outside
Chapter 664 Coming Back Outside
Erend and Eccar emerged from the other dimension, stepping through the black door and into the familiar desolation of Sulaeran Dragnar.
This was the world of the Dragonborn — their world. Yet, as their boots sank into the crunching black sand, they were met with an unsettling stillness and emptiness.
The horizon stretched endlessly, shrouded in gloom, with only faint traces of Magical auroras cutting through the sky.
"This is supposed to be home," Eccar murmured, his gaze scanning the barren landscape. "But all I see is... emptiness."
Erend sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping. "What now? I feel... hollow. Even after oir victory."
Eccar nodded, his expression clouded. "Maybe we should just go back. We've already spent too much time here."
Erend hesitated. "Yeah, maybe—"
"No," a familiar voice interrupted, resonating in the air around them.
Both turned sharply, recognizing the voice instantly.
"Kaelor?" Eccar asked, his brows rising in surprise. "You can talk again now?"
"Yes," Kaelor replied. "In Sulaeran Dragnar, my power is far greater than anywhere else. This is our domain and my resting place."
Erend frowned. "Resting place? What do you mean?"
There was a brief pause, as though Kaelor was gathering his words. Then, he spoke again.
"Because you are standing beneath it. My true body lies here, intertwined with this world."
The realization hit like a shockwave. Erend and Eccar glanced down, their eyes widening as they took in the massive, skeletal remains stretching around them.
"Wait... you mean these bones?" Eccar asked. "This is you?"
"Indeed," Kaelor answered, his voice calm. "You are walking under what remains of me — the Ashen Tempest Dragon. This is where I died, and this is where I remain."
A strange, almost eerie silence fell between them as the weight of Kaelor's words settled in. For all the power they'd have, standing amidst the physical remnants of such a colossal Dragonborn brought a humbling perspective. Kaelor is bigger than them in Dragon form.
"What happened to you?" Erend asked.
"Well," Kaelor's said. "I decided to rest here. I left my body to rest in Sulaeran Dragnar after the last great battle I've been through. What you stand within is my final form."
Erend's brow furrowed as he gazed at the towering ribs arching above him like a cathedral.
"How are you even speaking to us if you'r dead?" Erend asked, his voice heavy with curiosity.
Kaelor's voice seemed to ripple through the air, a combination of strange power and fragility.
"I choose to keep my spirit remains bound to this place, because this is our home. I am not alive, but I am not entirely gone either. That is why my power is strongest here. And now my presence proved to be useful to you two, to stop you consumed by the Black Rage."
Erend and Eccar looking at each other.
"You said the rage we ffelt was called the Black Rage. Is it something every Dragonborn carries?" Eccar asked.
Without hesitation, they exited the chamber with their quick and purposeful steps.
The metallic corridors were alive with flashes of energy weapons and the shouts of resistance soldiers locked in combat with the invaders.
Smoke and blood filled the air, and the acrid scent of scorched metal stung their nostrils.
The resistance fighters were struggling to hold their ground against the better-equipped invaders without them. The enemy soldiers moved with precision now after the reinforcement had arrived.
Erend and Eccar wasted no time. With a burst of energy, Erend summoned fire and lightning to his hands, the elements crackling with raw power. He hurled a fiery projectile into a cluster of enemy soldiers, the explosion scattering them like leaves in a storm.
Eccar drew upon his own Dragonborn strength, his fists glowing with a radiant energy and he immediately charged into the fray and star to attack. Each strike sending invaders sprawling as the ground trembled beneath his feet.
The resistance soldiers who saw the sudden arrival of the Dragonborn coming to aid them again, rallied.
"Push forward! The lord Dragonborns is back to the fught!" one of them shouted, their morale reignited.
As they fought their way through the invaders' ranks, Erend and Eccar worked together to help.
They become a storm of fire and force that cutting through the enemy lines like a blade through cloth. After coming out from the Sulaeran Dragnar, they can only feel their power becoming greater.
"This is easier than I thought," Eccar quipped, then dodging a blast of energy and retaliating with a powerful blow that crumpled an enemy soldier's armor.
"Don't get cocky," Erend replied, sending a bolt of lightning arcing through a line of advancing enemies. "We're not done yet. We should also make sure that not many died in the resistance soldiers."
Amid the chaos, the two Dragonborn pressed onward, determined to turn the tide of the battle and secure victory for the resistance.
The Resistance fighters turned to see the two Dragonborn striding forward with them.
Erend's body ignited with flames. Eccar's power surged through the ground, causing the earth beneath the invaders' feet to tremble and crack, pillars of jagged stone erupting to strike down their enemies.
Their Dragon Scales shimmered deflecting every projectiles that came their way. The invaders' weapons were useless against their impenetrable armor, and their attacks bounced harmlessly off leaving no mark.
Erend unleashed a torrent of fire, sweeping it across the ranks of the invaders. Soldiers scrambled to avoid the blazing inferno but many were caught, their armor melting under the intense heat.
Beside him, Eccar raised his hands. He clenched his fists and the ground beneath the invaders buckled and shifted. Spikes of hardened rock shot up, skewering the enemy's vehicles and scattering their formations.
The invaders faltered, their formation breaking as panic spread through their ranks.
"They've defeated Lord Krevak!" one soldier screamed, his voice filled with despair.
"And the other Lords too!" another shouted.
The murmurs of fear spread like wildfire, their morale crumbling. The army of the invaders began to retreat, their steps hesitant and uncoordinated.
"They're breaking!" he shouted. "Let's finish this!"
The Resistance fighters, emboldened by the Dragonborn's display of power, rallied even more.
"Push forward!" Commander voice rang out above the chaos. "They're running scared! Drive them back!"
